Frequently Asked Questions
How long does liquid screed take to dry?
Drying times depend on the product used and site conditions, but as a general rule, liquid screed dries at around 1mm per day up to 40mm, and 0.5mm per day thereafter. Light foot traffic is usually possible after 24–48 hours, and floor coverings can often be laid once moisture levels reach the manufacturer’s recommended limit.
Can you install underfloor heating and screed together?
Yes — that’s what we specialise in. We handle the full process, from laying insulation and underfloor heating systems to pouring the screed over the top. This ensures perfect coverage, maximum heat efficiency, and a seamless finish.
Do I need to prepare the site before you arrive?
We’ll take care of almost everything. Before the job starts, our team carries out a full site survey to check access and conditions. We’ll let you know if any small adjustments are needed, such as clearing floor areas or providing power and water on site.
What are the benefits of liquid screed over traditional sand and cement?
Liquid screed provides a smoother, more level surface, faster installation times, and excellent thermal conductivity, making it ideal for underfloor heating. It also minimises shrinkage and cracking compared to traditional screeds.
